La Cova d'en Xoroi (o el soroll)

This cave is a fascinating natural cave in the side of the cliffs that are the coast of Menorca near the port of Maò. Nowadays it's a bar and disco but the legend says that originally it was inhabited by a local pirate who discovered it and used it as his secret base. One night he stole a beautiful local girl to live with him and they lived and raised a family right there in the caves. Then one day locals found some footprints in the soft sand, those of the girl, which led them to the caves. Xoroi seeing that he had been discovered jumped to his death from the mouth of the cave together with his eldest son. A terrible story but a great disco.
